An AV matrix switcher is a device that routes multiple audio and/or video inputs to multiple outputs independently. Matrix switchers enable any input to be displayed on any output (or multiple outputs), providing flexibility for conference rooms, control rooms, and production environments. Sizes range from small 4x4 matrices to large-scale systems with hundreds of I/O. Modern matrices often support AV-over-IP for unlimited scalability.
